MAC Lustreglass Lipgloss Morning Glory

Every year, MAC offers many kits and sets for giving and receiving.  This year, there are three lipgloss sets, each with three lip glasses and two luster glasses. MAC has them priced at $29.50, and they denote the value of set as $35. Each set is housed in cute, giftable packaging so they’re incredibly easy to give as holiday gifts. MAC Lustreglass is diverse than the original MAC Lip Glass. They are a minute less sticky than lip glass, but they have a pearl ‘luster’ finish that splits them from the rest of the shimmering glosses. The delicious scent is subtle and not overwhelming at all.

The majority of sets contain a mix of permanently available shades. I did notice that they repromoted a few shades from 2005, and I imagine some of those lip glasses may be in need of an update.

My favorite set was the 5 Models misbehaving, but I’m often attracted to bolder lip colors, even if I rarely wear them!  5 Sexy Shenanigans was the sheerest of the three sets, while 5 Frisky Business was a good mix of soft and bold.

5 SEXY SHENANIGANS

Cruise Control is a medium yellow-based pink with soft yellow shimmer.

Elle is a milky, pearlescent pale white-pink with the soft shimmer.

Ensign is a bright, medium pink that’s not a hot pink, just bright enough to get noticed.

Morning Glory is a sheer, pearlescent pinky-lilac. This is the portion of the permanent range.

Poetic License is a creamy, beige coral.

5 MODELS MISBEHAVING

Angelwing a rich, raspberry-fuchsia with the purple and copper-red shimmer. It’s like a deeper, more penetrating version of Magnetic (and darker overall–not as bright). This is a repromote from the Madame B.

Gitane is a semi-opaque shade of rich, warmed-up chocolate with the copper bronze. This is a repromote from D’Bohemia.

Immediate Gold is a sheer slightly yellowed gloss with the lots of gold shimmer. This is part of the permanent range.

Magnetique is opaque deepened fuchsia-berry shade with iridescent purple pearl shimmer. This has always been one of my favorite lip glasses. This is a repromote from the Belle Azure (2005), Holiday Dress Sets (2006), Nocturnelle (2006), and A Rose Romance (2009).

Pinkular is as distant from pink as you can get. It’s a rich, coppery shade with loads of copper sparkle–very warm. This is a repromote from the Patternmaker (2006).

5 FRISKY BUSINESS

Beaute is a semi-sheer soft orangey coral with the multicolored shimmer. This is a repromote from the D’Bohemia (2005).

Pinkarat is a sheer, cool-toned pale pink with the gold shimmer. This is part of the perpetual range.

Silly Girl is a golden peachy-gold with gold shimmer. This is a repromote from the Balloonacy (2007).

Totally it is a bright pop of the hot pink with matching pink shimmer. This is a repromote from the Fafi (2008).

Wonderstruck is semi-sheer medium pink with a slight raspberry tone and silverish shimmer. This is part of the perpetual range.
